Sharon Van Noort - Owner
Sharon has worked in children’s mental health in Simcoe County for the past 25 years.  She has a passion for supporting families through difficult times.

For the last 10 years, Sharon has volunteered, participated and been a vendor at various dog sporting events.  Throughout this time she has heard stories of pet families or witnessed  friends experiencing the death of their beloved pet or having to go through making the painful decision to have their pet humanely euthanized.

Many years ago Sharon supported her partner when he needed to have his much loved Hope, a 13 year old  Chocolate Lab euthanized.  The experience of leaving her on the floor of the vet’s office was heartbreaking and she became determined that there should be more comforting options for families.  Hence, her interest in Pets at Peace.

In the future Sharon would like to provide grief support to children as she believes many of them are experiencing death for the first time through the loss of their beloved pet or have had their pet their entire life and may require some follow up support.
Rider Van Noort - (In Loving Memory 2007-2022)
I am Rider, a Border Collie, born in 2007 and was adopted from the Orillia SPCA on New Years Eve the same year.  I capture the hearts of anyone who meets me because I am so happy.  I had a short lived career in agility that ended when I suffered an injury but still love playing "chuck it" and I'm happiest with a squeaky ball in my mouth.  I believe I'm a lap dog and I love nothing better than snuggling with my mom when ever and where ever I can.
Spud Van Noort - (In Loving Memory 2007-2021)
I am Spud, a Husky/Shepherd, and I was adopted from the Orillia SPCA just like my brother.  I am a jumping bean and love nothing better to jump things that keep me from being with my family.  I can spend all day just sitting and waiting in the car for my mom to take me for a ride.  My sport is dock diving and I love to go anytime I can.  I can be a bit bossy but I think my good looks make up for that.  Don't you?
