Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened. ” - Anatole France

Nig Nig wasn’t just an ordinary cat. She was my best friend, my confidant and my savior. She was born in Perry Sound, Ontario on April 21st, 2001 and the moment she joined our family I fell in love with my little fur baby. She helped me through some of my darkest days and shared my joys. She enjoyed cuddling in my blankets, exploring any open bags, crawling around the clean laundry, and would only drink from a cup! Shadows never ceased to amuse her and her kitten-like quality would show its side as she chased the silhouettes. Nig Nig was a friendly little feline who loved to be pet and never bared her claws – except while I was attacked by a Pitbull in 2006. My furry friend leapt to my defense by jumping on the dog’s back. Her mild manners were rewarded with the occasional human treat of ham, French fries and gravy.

Mommy & Daddy love you, Nig Nig. I hope you’re sitting up in heaven with my Mom purring away peacefully. Written by Jodi Cowan
