Café Spencer

2005 — Tue, Feb 26, 2019

In 2005, Café became part of the Spencer family when Marlene, Victoria and Vanessa purchased her at PJ's Pet Centre in Yorkdale Shopping Mall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

From getting her as only a kitten to getting neutered and removing a tumor, getting stuck behind the fridge, playing “cat hockey” with little candies as a puck, shredding the furniture with her claws, chipping her front right tooth, running up and down the stairs all night, dangling off the curtains, her love of flowers (and getting pollen on her and have a yellow-stained face for weeks), surviving the Toronto propane explosion in 2008, moving to different places to live, and growing into an adult cat (but still our baby). Her favorite time of the day was the morning, especially during the summer when the warm, bright sunrise would shine through the windows, and for breakfast, with her favorite food being cans of tuna and Temptations cat treats, and laying out in the warmth of the sun outside during the summer with her doggy sisters, Mindy and Mia. And many more endless memories.

Café died in the early morning of Tuesday, February 26, 2019, in the comfort of her own home, only a few hours before being taken to the vet to put her to sleep, as she was only becoming more sick and more weak and was on a whole bunch of different medications. First, it started with her thyroid, then she had a mild form of liver disease... an ear infection, a virus in her white blood cells - she stopped eating, which resulted in us having to force feed her different brands of liquid cat food (tuna flavoured, of course) with a syringe.

Even though she is no longer here, she will always be alive in our hearts and will always be part of our family.

Rest in peace and paradise, Café. We love you forever.
