Qetesh's Memorial Page

Pets at Peace was honoured to provide services for Qetesh (key-tesh). Qetesh was hatched in 1991 at the Canadian Wildlife Service's breeding facility in Wainwright, Alberta. Qetesh was retired by the CWSA and transferred to Ontario to a local falconer, Ulrich Waterman, who donated her to the Canadian Peregrine Foundation. Qetesh was their first bird. Qetesh came to them as a human imprinted bird, and was officially known to the federal government as 'Breeza'. She was later named 'Qetesh' when she arrived at the Canadian Peregrine Foundation. Her new name Qetesh was chosen by them given her own personal background and history and her temperment, while referencing ancient Egyptian mythology where the form of peregrines and their first recorded interaction with man is documented. During her reign with the Canadian Peregrine Foundation, Qetesh has been the role model in outreach school visit program, where she has visited and participated in some 4000 plus school visits, hundreds of events and MANY corporate board room presentations throughout Ontario and Quebec. She has personally touched the lives of children and adults alike. She was the star everywhere she went and held most adults speechless and in awe when she first entered the room.
